Want to create a statement with a gallery wall but overwhelmed with all the options? Designing a personalized groupings of prints in a series is the perfect way to tell your story and transform a room with beautiful fine art prints that complement your office, business, or home decor.  Whether you want to make a unique statement, showcase your favorite local landscapes, or just add some beauty and color to your walls, use these three simple design and style tips to get your creative juices flowing:

1. Stick to a theme

Not sure where to begin?  Start by choosing a theme for your wall gallery series.  Whether you pick a color, a certain location, or a specific subject, choose prints that have a cohesive theme and connect together.  Choose a simple design like the aspen themed series above that showcases aspen trees in both spring and winter or pick a series of photographs from your favorite location like we did below with a northwest Wyoming series of three framed prints from Yellowstone National Park and Dubois Wind River Valley area.

2. Choose prints that complement each other.

Now that you know the overall theme of your wall print series, choose prints that complement each other and don’t compete.  If you choose an up-close wildlife photograph like we did below of the fighting bison in Yellowstone National Park, pair it next to something with a wider perspective like the big landscape we choose of Dubois below.  We chose to design the series below to have the two framed prints that have a lot of brown and yellow color tones like the one of Lower Falls separated by the green and blue rich landscape of the Wind River Valley which we felt gave it a nice balance. Try to alternate perspectives, subject matter, and color tones so that each print stands out for itself.

3. Go with your gut.

Choosing a collection of artwork can be a very personal and emotional process and when in doubt, we recommend to follow your gut.  If there is a certain photograph that you are drawn to, start by building a gallery collection around it and go from there.  Think about the photographs  you have a gut reaction to and make those be the foundation for your gallery series and start coordinating your collection around that.  While designing your own gallery wall can be an intimidating process, with a few simple tips you can have a lot of fun making a personalized collection that matches your own unique style, taste, and decor.
